Roe deer themed shawl pin
€150.00
I have a great weakness for woolen shoulder shawls. They are both down-to-earth and soft and tender. A woolen shoulder shawl has many times supported me on difficult moments - just by being around my shoulders. And because of that have the shawl pins a special place in my creations as well.
A roe deer walked across my shawl pin. There are quite a lot of them in my neighborhood. It is quite fascinating to follow their footsteps in the morning in the fresh snow... in the direction of our neighbor's apple garden. (Please don't tell the neighbors!)
When I first noticed those footprints, they seemed to be made by a tiny hoof. But still there was something bothering me afterwards, as if I was missing something. When I had another chance, I observed their trails much closer. No, it wasn't a hoof, it was a pastern! (This is a picture from the sequel called "How a former city person discovers living in the countryside".)
And as it was on my roe deer themed earrings and ring - I used the moss agate as the stone. The moss! The forest! The roe deer!
Every time I make a larger work, I groan in the end when I have to clean it. It is a part requiring a lot of patience and sometimes I have the feeling of giving up. I cleaned this work for many hours as well. In the end I was covered with polishing compound up to my elbows and my face was covered with black dots except for the part that was covered with safety glasses. Beauty requires sacrifices...
But the best part was in the end. Have you ever poked polishing compound from between the roe deer droppings?
Material: silver 925
Stone: moss agate
Height: 3.1 cm
Width: 4.2 cm
NB! This shawl pin suits best the woolen shawls!
