A wheel coin is a pendant belonging to traditional clothes in some parts of Estonia.
I have a special relationship with wheel coins. With my first one I had a wonderful experience how ideas showed up in my head and together they formed a funny whole and what was the worst part - I made it! I was afraid that traditional clothing had very strong limits but I learned that even hundreds of years ago there were silversmiths who added quirks to their wheel coins.
This is a wheel-coinish work with a very special stone. The very moment I saw it I had a vision what kind of surroundings it wants to have. The result is on the pictures.
I was fascinated how one simple addition to the stone's faceting could add so much, creating such a wonderful optical effect. It seems that the stone has a chrysanthemum inside that plays along with the angle the stone is looked at. It seems as if it were alive.
I have also discovered that the wheel coin can also be an elegant addition to a simple dark-colored pullover.
